RPGTravel Adventurer's Guild Rights and Responsibilities

Gaming is an inherently social activity, and as such, there is an implied social contract in place to be a member of a gaming table. To clarify our stance on what we expect from our players, game masters, and staff, we have assembled these Rights and Responsibilities.

Each player, when they agree to join us for one of our sessions, agrees to adhere to these rights and responsibilites. You also acknowledge that RPGTravel is committed to providing a premium gaming experience for all of our gamers and travelers, and we will speak to any participant who is not living up to this agreed upon code of conduct. In management’s sole discretion, we may allow the offender one or more opportunities to rectify the problematic activity, up to the removal of the participant from the experience with no refund.

The DM / GM is the final arbiter of the Rules

Role play gaming is rarely a straightforward process. Disagreements on the Rules As Written vs Rules As Intended vs Rule Of Cool can often be an engaging pursuit. We expect these discussions as they may happen to happen away from the table. At the table, and as part of an RPGT Experience, RPGT Game Master at the table and ultimately the Experience Game Master are the FINAL arbiter of the Rules At Play during the Experience.

Help contribute to everyone else's fun

We expect players and DMs to cooperate with the end result being fun for everyone at the table. While we strive to create fun and entertaining challenges, we do not operate a DM vs PC adversarial relationship. To this end, we expect that every participant at the table has the overall goal to contribute positively to the fun of the group.

Do not touch other players' person or effects without explicit permission

Social agreements vary from relationship to relationship. One aspect that we believe is inviolate is personal consent to one’s body and effects. You agree that you will gain explicit affirmative consent before touching another person or their possessions.

Behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property

Attendees must respect common sense rules for public behavior, including language choice, attire, and hygiene. Harassing or offensive behavior will not be tolerated. RPGTravel reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the participation of any attendee not in compliance with this policy. Persons finding themselves in a situation where they feel their safety is at risk or who become aware of an attendee not in compliance with this policy should immediately locate the nearest member of security or staff member so that the matter can be handled in an expeditious manner.

No Smoking, Including E-cigarettes and Vaping Products and Devices

No smoking is allowed at any RPGTravel experience at any time and in any location. No smoking includes traditional cigarettes, pipes, cigars, or E-cigarettes and any vaping product or device. This policy includes any indoor space, whether is is shared or solo. You are welcome to step outside the venue to smoke in designated smoking areas only, but please be considerate of others when you do. This policy is in place not only for the comfort of attendees but also to comply with many local ordinances prohibiting smoking at public events near any doorway, entrance, exit, or operable window. Please comply with this policy; noncompliance may result in ejection from the experience.

No Pets Allowed

If you have pets, including iguanas, parrots, boa constrictors, or other nonhuman critters, please leave them at home. RPGTravel does not allow animals into any venue except for verified service animals.

Anti-Harassment Policies

If you are made to feel unwelcome, unsafe, or uncomfortable by someone’s behavior, that is harassment. RPGTravel does not allow harassment of any kind, including but not limited to behaviors such as: stalking, offensive comments, hate speech, inappropriate or unwelcome physical contact, recording or taking pictures without permission, and repeatedly disrupting conversations you have been asked to leave. The aforementioned comments or hate speech could be in relation to (but not limited to): age, race or ethnicity, color, citizenship, relationship status, sexual orientation, gender identity or presentation, appearance or body size, pregnancy, disability, or religion.

If you feel harassed or see someone else being harassed, notify a staff member immediately. RPGTravel will take any action necessary to stop the behavior, up to and including expulsion from experience. We will also take steps to help you feel safe again, such as helping you contact appropriate authorities, escorting you to a safe location, or contacting your friends or family for you. This policy applies to everyone involved with the experience, including attendees, panelists, vendors, guests, players, travelers, and staff.
